Letter Supporting an Expanded Work Permit Automatic Extension

The Presidents’ Alliance signed on to a letter urging the Department of Homeland Security to expand the automatic extension of work authorization for immigrants with pending work permit renewal applications. Such action would prevent thousands of immigrants from losing their jobs, providing security to workers and businesses and promoting long-term social and economic stability. Providing automatic extensions for all immigrants with pending renewal applications could mitigate the work permit backlog and ease economic pressures faced by immigrants at risk of losing their permits due to processing delays.
