Presidents’ Alliance Joins Comment Letter on Better FAFSA for Mixed Status Families

The Presidents’ Alliance joined over 100 partner organizations in support of a comment letter submitted by ImmSchools urging the Department of Education to resolve ongoing issues with the redesigned Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA). Since the launch of the new FAFSA in late December, contributors without social security numbers (SSNs) have been unable to set up required FSA IDs and have encountered error messages when seeking to fill out the form. The letter highlights the ongoing challenges families are facing and stresses the importance of developing a permanent solution as soon as possible.
