Strengthen Security: Waive In-Person Interviews for Previously Vetted Applicants

As a member of the U.S. for Success Coalition, the Presidents’ Alliance signed on to a letter urging the Department of Homeland Security to waive in-person interviews for previously vetted international students and applicants for certain employment-based nonimmigrant categories. Such action would permanently enable consular officers to use their discretion in waiving in-person interviews for applicants who have already been vetted—allowing DHS to allocate resources on applicants who need more scrutiny.
