Webinar – Refugee Students on U.S. College Campuses: Resources for Campuses and Advocates

On June 23, 2021, the Presidents’ Alliance and UARRM’s Student Voices for Refugees hosted a webinar,  Refugee Students on U.S. College Campuses: Resources for Campuses and Advocates. The webinar covered short-term solutions to address the barriers refugee students face to entering higher education, as well as long-term goals for increasing refugee student access to the U.S. and U.S. higher education. The webinar also marked the formal launch of the UARRM Student Voices for Refugees Toolkit, a collection of resources created to connect advocates at higher education institutions with the knowledge and materials needed to create scholarship and mentorship programs for refugee and displaced students already in the United States.

Speakers at this event included crucial campus and student voices as well as experts in refugee student education pathways and international education and policy, including from the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), Presidents’ Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration, and the University Alliance for Refugees and at-Risk Migrants’ Student Voices for Refugees.
