Russian agents issue statement, as tests suspended and associations warn against bans


In a statement, Universities UK said, “Many Russian students, academics and researchers, at great personal peril, have publicly criticised this invasion. We believe that scientific collaboration and research are a vital global endeavour, therefore we would not support a blanket suspension of academic links.”

“Leaders need to make a distinction between Putin and Russian people who want a better life,” said Jill Welch, a Senior Adviser for the Presidents’ Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration, to the Associated Press. “Sending anyone back wouldn’t shorten any war by a day.”
