US aims for dual intent for students, green cards for PhDs

Miriam Feldblum, Executive Director of the Presidents’ Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration – which is comprised of 500 presidents and chancellors of public and private colleges and universities – said in a statement that the bill contained crucial higher education policies and “sends a much-needed welcome signal to our international students, scholars and alumni”.

She welcomed measures to help students stay and to expand dual intent to international students, but called for immediate action to support international students in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.
