On April 7, the Presidents’ Alliance and NAFSA co-hosted an action alert briefing, “Will International Students Return in Fall 2021? A Vital Resource at Risk.” The briefing discussed how visa processing delays and travel restrictions could significantly impact fall 2021 international student enrollment on U.S. campuses. We covered newly released data and visa processing and travel restriction policy issues. Speakers, including policy and data experts and campus and international education leaders, discussed how campus leaders can support advocacy actions to urge the U.S. government to take the necessary steps to ensure timely, transparent processing of student and scholar visas.
